Plasterers apply plaster to interior walls, stucco to exterior walls, and fireproofing to structural steel. Much of this work requires close and careful attention to finished appearance. Plasterers may craft ornamental plaster in place or may attach ornamental plaster shapes to walls and ceilings.
Apprenticeship
The Plasterer Apprentice program involves:
- 4 Year Program.
- 6400 hours of on-the-job training.
- 576 hours of classroom training.
- Occasional long distance travel for employment or training.
Requirements for application:
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- You must have a high school diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or equivalent.
- You must provide a valid California Driver’s License
Apprenticeship
The Fireproofing Plasterer Designation Apprentice program involves:
- 3 Year Program
- 4800 hours on-the-job-training
- 432 hours of classroom training
- Training Facility is in West Sacramento
- Occasional long distance travel for employment
Requirements for application:
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- You must have a high school diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or equivalent.
- You must provide a valid California Driver’s License
