Cement Masons finish exposed concrete surfaces of floors, walls, streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, and other structural and architectural elements ie: polished concrete. They patch and repair concrete. Most of their work is by hand, although machines are also used on highways and other large-scale projects. Applicants must be in good physical condition; much of the work is performed while kneeling.

Apprenticeship

The Cement Masons Apprentice program involves:

  • 4200 hours (usually three years) of on-the-job training
  • 432 hours of classes

Requirements for application:

  • Proof of being eighteen years of age
