Cement Masons finish exposed concrete surfaces of floors, walls,
streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, and other structural and
architectural elements. They patch and repair concrete.
Most of their work is by hand, although machines are also used on
highways and other large-scale projects. Applicants must be in
good physical condition; much of the work is performed while kneeling.
Apprenticeship
The Cement Masons Apprentice program involves:
- 4200 hours (usually three years) of on-the-job training
- 432 hours of classes
Requirements for application:
1. Proof of being eighteen years of age
